NORTH CHARLESTON, SC -
Thursday afternoon a semi-truck knocked down some power lines in front of the Coastal Carolina Fair on Hwy 78 causing a power outage on the fairgrounds.

According to Joe Bolchoz at the Coastal Carolina Fair, the Fair is open despite some of the vendors without power. Bolchoz says the power outage is minimal and none of the rides are impacted, they all run on generators.

Bolchoz tells News 2 SCE&G is working to restore power. The Coastal Carolina Fair opened its doors at 3 p.m. Thursday.

An update will be sent out when more information is available and/or when the power has been restored.
