Ten year old gives aid to the homeless

From our News Partners at WCBD-TV:

CHARLESTON, SC - (WCBD) Wednesday, a ten-year-old boy hosted a food and clothing drive to help the homeless in Charleston. The drive took place at James Island Elementary.

John Cromwell, a 5th grader at James Island Elementary School, wanted to do something for the homeless in the area. He decided that it would be best to have himself and his classmates take in donations for Crisis Ministries.

He said he has been wanting to do this for a long time, "Ever since I was 5... and was told about the people that live under the bridge... I've wanted to help"
Crisis Ministries gladly accepted the donations of food, clothing and school supplies. Crisis Ministries is completing an new building on Meeting Street that will house more beds, new aadministrativeoffices, and a training kitchen. The project is expected to be completed at the end of this summer.

John and his classmates are very excited and glad they could help those who are less fortunate.
