Three year old shoots infant in North Charleston, mother arrested.

Kalea Pryor, 21, is charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base and Unlawful Conduct Toward a Child.

According to a spokesperson from the North Charleston Police Department, an infant was found with a gun shot wound inside a house on Tulip Street off Rivers Avenue a little before 6 p.m. Thursday evening.

The infant has been transported to the Medical University of South Carolina in serious condition.

"Upon arrival officers located the child in a car seat in the living room suffering from a gunshot," North Charleston spokesperson Spencer Pryor said.

"Officers located a handgun on a nearby couch. Narcotics were also found in plain view in the residence," Spencer Pryor added.

"The mother of the infant, Kalea Pryor, admitted to investigators that she was standing on the front porch talking with friends when she heard what she knew to be a gunshot. She advised that she ran inside and observed her 3-year-old son standing next to the gun crying. It was learned that the 3-year-old accidentally shot the infant," Spencer Pryor said.

21-year-old Kalea Pryor has been charged with Possesion with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possesion with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base and Unlawful Conduct Towards a Child.

The incident is still under investigation.
